Peahen

I shot this peahen in Surathkal, my native town. After being awakened by excited uncles and cousins, to see such a large bird wander close by, I rushed out bleary eyed to get this photograph on a dull cloudy morning.

D3100, Tamron 70-300mm | 1/125, f/9 @ ISO 400

A trigger-happy me got the exposure all wrong. A faster shutter speed with a wider aperture would have worked better. The image is not as sharp as I’d like, perhaps a function of both the lens and the dull light.
