I captured this shot of a beautiful Red-whiskered Bulbul in Surathkal too. At the time I was the excited owner of a new Tamron 70-300mm and was click-happy, snapping photos of everything that moved. As I look at the sequence of roughly 10 shots I took, this is the only one with the bird clearly visible and in focus…well soft focus.
My naivety shows with the exposure settings – a shutter speed of 1/200 is too slow for a perky little bird that keeps hopping about. I ended up with that low a shutter speed because of the narrow aperture.
