I had just bought my Nikkor 200-500mm lens and was itching to use it. On a particularly cold and windy day I photographed this pair of Canadian Geese at Peace Valley. The lake was teeming with migrating geese and I was able to get several attempts at making that perfect shot.
I quite like this photo – it has come out sharply and the exposure is good too. Although dead centered, the composition works for me because of the symmetry in the two birds, each on the opposite end of a wingstroke.
